Karin is an Associate Researcher at Basis Policy Research, where she partners with education agencies and organizations to use research to inform equitable and impactful policy and decision-making. She specializes in quantitative and mixed-methods research focused on the implementation and outcomes of education policies and programs, with expertise in areas such as teacher development and retention, school leadership, college access, and workforce pathways.
Karin has designed and managed complex, multi-year studies for the U.S. Department of Education, national foundations, and large school districts. Her current projects include evaluating a college advising and scholarship program in rural Tennessee and examining the impact of a teacher residency and apprenticeship initiative in South Carolina.
Karin’s career spans classroom teaching, district leadership, and applied research, equipping her with deep understanding of the intersections of research, policy, and practice. Karin holds a Ph.D. in Education Leadership and Policy from Vanderbilt University and a bachelor’s degree from New York University.
