Associate

As an Associate at Basis Policy Research, Liv supports and leads mixed-methods research and program evaluation projects that span K–12 education, early childhood, child welfare, and housing policy. She has 5 years of experience in providing reliable insights for clients, and particularly excel in qualitative data gathering, analysis, and reporting.

Liv is currently supporting three projects aimed towards informing and evaluating public and private investments that better serve families in West Michigan. These include a comprehensive needs assessment of Kent County’s housing and emergency shelter system, a multi-year evaluation of the county’s Ready by Five Early Childhood Millage, and the deployment of a longitudinal panel study of community wellbeing.

Liv holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) with concentration in state, regional, and local governance from Grand Valley State University’s college of Community and Public Service. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan where she focused her studies in political science and international studies. In her free time, Liv enjoys nurturing her green thumb by spending time in nature with her family and dogs, gardening, tending to her houseplants, and preserving flowers.
