Margot Plotz is a Senior Director at Basis. In this role, she focuses on business development, research and evaluation activities, project management, supporting client relationships, and strategic operational initiatives. Margot’s background spans the education spectrum from higher education policy and educator effectiveness programs to business development, fundraising, and programmatic alignment for education and research organizations. She has expertise in opportunity development, education trend analysis, client relationship building and management, and partnership development to support Basis’ strategic operations. Margot holds an MPA from the University of Colorado Denver and earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Margot grew up in rural Southwestern Colorado. She witnessed disparities that existed along a socioeconomic divide, particularly to those who lacked access to quality education. She is committed to making a difference and believes in two generation strategies that create opportunities for both parents and their children. She currently serves as a board member for a Colorado nonprofit working to reduce recidivism in the state, and believes that helping those coming out of prison, combined with being engaged with education research and policy, supports a two-generation strategy.
