Joy develops communications strategies to maximize our research impact and disseminate evidence-based ideas and practices. In addition to writing creative content for website and social media channels, she provides extensive research and editorial support on a variety of projects.
Joy resides in the rural outskirts of the Research Triangle with her husband and three children. Cattle country provides a soothing backdrop for her running addiction and motley pack of rescue dogs, giant rabbits, kunekune pigs, and freeloading chickens.
Prior to Basis, Joy was a writer, editor, and assistant director of communications for a nonprofit specializing in hearing healthcare. She has also taught students ranging from preschoolers through undergraduates in various alternative and outdoor education settings and served as a research intern at the Tennessee Higher Education Commission.
